Martin’s Folly is a four-piece American rock band, formed
in Brooklyn eight years with the seemingly simple goal of making
music they love without regard to fashion or current trends. Over
the years they’ve been compared to the Band (Spin), Bob Dylan
(Billboard) and Mott the Hoople (VH1.com).
From Hope is the band’s third full-length CD. In 1999 they
released the critically acclaimed Man It’s Cold (Tar Hut)
and in 1996 released their eponymous debut on Brooklyn’s Johnson’s
Wax label.
Martin’s Folly has toured all over the US, gaining scores
of passionate admirers, and been and been featured performers on
numerous radio shows including: NPR’s World Café, Vin
Scelsa’s Idiot’s Delight on WNEW, Laura Cantrell’s
Radio Thrift Shop on WFMU and Peter Bochan’s All Mixed Up
on WBAI.
“Whoever
complains rock is dead should be force-fed the new sophomore release
from Martin's Folly.” — Spin
“Martin's Folly is probably the most innovative band
to be lumped into the roots rock category.” —
